About

Jamiah Calvin is a fine artist and muralist from Chicago Illinois. He grew up in the Austin neighborhood on the West side where he was inspired by his love for comic books, music, cartoons to create art that both reflects the experiences of those in his environment and escape into his own world of creative expression.

Informed by his experiences in the military, raising his sons, and his formal pursuit of Art education through obtaining his BFA from Northern Illinois University, he has continued to blend his skills in drawing and painting, with his life experience and imagination to create artwork that spark nostalgia while engaging fantasy.

To date, he has displayed works of art in galleries and painted murals, and placed pieces in collections across the United States and internationally. His ultimate goal is to leave a legacy of artwork that expands limitations projected onto Black art and artists.
